Wilfrid Paul "Willie" Putthoff, son of Norbert H. and Lauretta Frances (Cook) Putthoff, was born in Appleton City, Missouri January 8, 1951. He passed away Monday, October 23, 2006 after an eight year battle with brain cancer.
Mr. Putthoff lived most of his life in the Germantown, Missouri community where he was loved and respected. He was a hard worker choosing to farm in his early adult life and then later becoming a truck driver for Farmland Industries. Willie was a friendly man who enjoyed the company of his family and friends. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, traveling and reading. Willie was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Montrose, Missouri and also the Montrose Activity Club.
Willie was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mary Putthoff. Survivors include three brothers: Gene and Beverly of Belton, Missouri, Joe and Nathalie of Appleton City, Missouri and Phil and Cheryl of Peculiar, Missouri; three sisters: Rita and Gary Schafer of Kansas City, Missouri, Rose and Stan Brann of Kansas City North, Missouri and Jane and Hank Swaters of Montrose, Missouri. Extended family includes aunts and uncles, Paul and Josephine Cook of Independence, Missouri, Joe Cook of Urich, Missouri, Ben Kalwei of Montrose, Missouri and Teresa Cook of St. Louis, Missouri. Willie is a loved uncle by his many nephews, nieces and great-nieces and great-nephews.
