William C. "Bill" Niemann, Jr. was born to William C. and Minnie (Stevener) Niemann September 12, 1922 and completed his life's journey May 23, 2007.
He was baptized at the Reformed Church of Prairie City and was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church of Appleton City where he remained a faithful member throughout his life.
Except for a period of schooling in St. Louis and serving in the military in Europe during World War II, he spent his entire life in Appleton City. Upon returning from the military, he was employed by the U.S. Postal Service and continued there until retirement. He was a Rural Letter Carrier for Route 1 and deeply appreciated the friendships he developed with his patrons.
On January 1, 1950 he was married to Neta Duckworth. They became the parents to two sons, one of whom died in infancy.
Bill was a dedicated family man who enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, brothers Vernon and Gene, and an infant son Charles.
He is survived by his wife of the home, his son Jim, daughter-in-law Lois, grandson Will, and granddaughter Katie. Also surviving is a sister Norma Moldovan, two nephews, three nieces, many other relatives and friends.
