Funeral Home before the service between 1:00 - 2:00 P.M.

Appleton City Cemetery,
Appleton City, Missouri.

William Boone (Bill) Crawford, son of Roscoe X and Maudie Mae Larimore Crawford was born August 15, 1928 near Warrensburg, Missouri. He passed away Saturday April 13, 2013 in Appleton City Missouri at the age of 84.

"Grandpa", as he was lovingly known by everyone, was raised in Warrensburg Missouri and graduated from Warrensburg High School. He was united in marriage to Nancy Boone Rector in Excelsior Springs. They lived the majority of their married life in Windsor, Missouri. While Nancy was a stay at home Mom for their three daughters, Bill worked at Missouri Public Service Company as a lineman/maintenance man for 34 years. After his retirement in 1988, they moved to Appleton City Missouri.

While living in Windsor, Bill was active in Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star, was a City Councilman, Mayor Pro-Tem and Deacon at the First Christian Church. Upon moving to Appleton City he transferred his membership to the Masonic Lodge AF & AM and the Christian Church. He served on the board of the Senior Housing and was a member of the Ararat Shrine.

Bill spent his summers camping, boating and skiing with family and friends at Lake Pomme De Terre. Christmas vacations you could find the family loaded up in the motor home exploring the southern states with the final destination being Walt Disney World in Florida. After retiring Bill spent his winters in Texas where he played league pool, read western novels and enjoyed the sunshine. You would see him cruising around Appleton City, stopping to visit whenever he saw a friend outside. He could always be found at the grandkid's football, basketball, baseball and volleyball games. On his 83rd birthday he went skydiving with two of his daughters and a granddaughter. He also got his first passport and traveled to Cancun for the wedding of his oldest grandson.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Russell and Jack Crawford and his beloved wife Nancy in 1995. He is survived by three daughters: Linda Crawford, Arlington Virginia; Melissa Roos and husband Bob, Appleton City; Julie Engeman, Appleton City; grandchildren: David Crawford and wife Tracie, Arlington Virginia; Michael Roos, Denver Colorado; Amy Roos, Gladstone, Missouri; Ashley Engeman, Ethan Engeman, and Eli Engeman, Appleton City; and one great-grandson, Jude Roos.
