With the upsurge of COVID-19 we strongly recommend all who attend the visitation and funeral mass for Mr. Rotert wear a mask to the church.  Please respect the social distancing rules and think of others' safety as well as your own.  The church will be cordoned off in the proper increments.  We appreciate your cooperation and courtesy at this time.

The FUNERAL MASS for Mr. Rotert will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, July 17, 2020 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Montrose, Missouri.

VISITATION will precede the Funeral Mass at the church from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon .

OFFICIATING at the Funeral Mass will be Father Matt Rotert.

INTERMENT will be in St. Ludger's Cemetery, Germantown, Missouri.

The family suggests any MEMORIAL donations be made to Germamtown Cemetery Association.

Willard John Rotert passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at Shangri-La Rehab and Living Center in Blue Springs, Missouri, age 85.  He was born November 7, 1934, near Montrose, Missouri, the son of Edward Anthony and Bernadena Johanna (Daldrup) Rotert.  Willard attended Piper School, walking to school every day.

He spent his life in the Montrose area, helping his dad farm and raise cattle, which he continued throughout his life.  In his leisure time, Willard enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing baseball for the Germantown team.  He served his nation proudly in the National Guard Reserve.  He worked for Peabody Coal Company beginning in 1955 and retired after 31 years of service in 1986 when the company closed.  During his time with Peabody he laid railroad tracks, operated heavy equipment, became a train engineer, and served as a heavy equipment mechanic until his retirement.

Apart from his career, he married Margie June Cowan on April 25, 1955, and to this union two daughters were born: Rhonda and Darla.  He later married Judy Jackson and they retired to the Pomme de Terre Lake area, where he enjoyed many days of fishing, woodworking, playing cards, and spending time with friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Anthony and Bernadena Johanna (Daldrup) Rotert; one sister, Florene McMillian; and his wife, Judy.

Willard is survived by his two sisters: Kathleen Lesmeister and Bernadette Greufe; his two daughters: Rhonda Lawson and Darla (Gene) Pearcy. grand children: Tracy Mallett Turner (Rick), Casey Mallett Jones (Will), Marshal Mallett (Michelle), Rachel L. Kirkey, Billy G. Kirkey III; great-grandchildren: Caston Mallett (Caitie), Jazmon Mallett Elliott (Glenn), Alexus Israel, Korine Turner (Koleen), Ricky Turner II, Averyk Mallett; great-great-grandchildren: Kyrie and Kezly Mallett; along with many extended family and dear friends.
