Obituary

The FUNERAL SERVICE for Mr. Morris will be held at Hill and Son Funeral Home in Appleton City, Missouri on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.

The MINISTER will be Jerry Johannigmeier.

VISITATION will be at Hill and Son Funeral Home on Saturday, January 3, 2015 from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.

INTERMENT will be in Montrose Cemetery, Montrose, Missouri.

Willard Lane Morris, 72, son of William and Edna (Marsh) Morris was born September 17, 1942 in Henry County, Missouri. He passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at his home in Rockville, Missouri.

Lane was one of seven children. His brothers and sisters were Ralph, Russell, Eileen, Wilma, Tony, and Beryl.

Lane was raised in the Montrose area and went to the Lone Vale School and Montrose High School. In 1964 he was united in marriage to Ada Ann Raysik. They were blessed with three children, Laura, Wesley Lane and William.

In Lane's younger years he loved hunting and being in the outdoors. He enjoyed spending time in Wyoming and Idaho.

Lane worked for Peabody Coal Company for more than twenty years while at the same time farming by raising beef cattle and row cropping.

Lane was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: infant brother, Beryl, Ralph Morris, Russell Morris, Eileen Pippin, and Wilma Cook; son, Wesley Lane Morris.

He is survived by his daughter, Laura Ann Himes and husband, Terry of Clinton, Missouri and son, William Morris of Montrose, Missouri; three granddaughters: Jenny Himes, Jamie Himes and Elizabeth Morris; three great-grandchildren: Ayden, Alayna and Alexa; sister, Toni Starks and husband, Vernon; brother-in-law, Ralph Cook; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
