Warren Fish, 75 of Appleton City, Missouri passed away on December 3, 2005 at his home surrounded by his wife and family.
Warren was born February 10, 1930 to the late Paul Fish and Ida (Fish) Barker of Centerville, Kansas. They later moved to the Kansas City area.
In 1946, Warren joined the Navy. While stationed at the Whidbey Island Naval Air Station in Washington State, he met his future wife, Marlene Bruns. They were married in 1949 and soon started their family. Warren was in the Navy for 16 years and then joined the Station Keeper Reserves. He worked as a mechanic for H.H. Halferty and Sons in Paradise, Missouri until 1976 when he moved with his wife to Lynden, Washington to help care for his wife's parents. While there, he worked for Brim Tractor Company until his retirement. In 1995, Warren and Marlene moved back to the Midwest to be with his family.
Warren loved horses and owned several through the years and enjoyed going on trail rides with family and friends. Another love of Warren's was cars. Warren enjoyed giving his time to many volunteer activities: Lynden Senior Citizens, Meals on Wheels; Diamond City Arkansas Volunteer Fire Dept. and Rescue Squad. While living in Diamond City he was chosen as Citizen of the Year. Throughout his life he donated blood to help others.
Warren was preceded in death by his brother Bill Fish, his sister-in-law Leanna Hardin, his in-laws Ross & Dorothy Bruns and a nephew Ron Crawford.
He leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Marlene, his daughter, Laurel Stremler and husband Forrest, his son, Ross "Snap" Fish and wife Sarah, and son Fred Fish and wife Deloris. Warren also leaves 4 grand-children: Amy Coe and husband Rustin, Erick Fish and Deanna Hoy, Warren Fish, Jr. and wife Marisa, Heather Kenney and husband Travis. Five great grand-children, Laura, Lindsey and Alison Coe, and Gabriel and Liam Fish. Also left behind are his brother Robert Fish and wife Radine, Clarice LaGore and husband Bob, Alden Fish and wife Joann, and his sister-in-law Wilma Fish. Many nieces, nephews and also the many friends made throughout his life.
At Warren's request there will be no services. If you wish to make a memorial contribution, the family request they be made to the Evelyn Laney Brown Hospice (PO Box 154, Appleton City MO) or the Lynden Community Center in Lynden, Washington, 98264.
