A MEMORIAL SERVICE for Vivian will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 10, 2020 at Hill and Son Funeral Home in Appleton City, Missouri.
VISITATION will precede the service from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.
The MINISTER officiating at the service will be Tony Reynolds.
There will be a private family INURNMENT at King's Prairie Cemetery near Gerster, Missouri at a later date.
The family suggests any MEMORIAL donations be made to the Appleton City Manor Nursing Home.
Vivian Lee (DeLozier) Bird, age 88, the daughter of Lawrence and Edith (Branstetter) DeLozier was born October 9, 1931. She passed away peacefully on January 5, 2020 at the Appleton City Manor in Appleton City, Missouri.
She spent her youth in California and after completing her education later moved to Gerster, then Pleasant Hill, Missouri, where she raised a family. During this time Vivian met and married Kenneth Bird in 1956. She had six children: Ronald, Charissa, Larry, Kenny, Penny, and Stephen.
Vivian dedicated her life to caring for her large family. She especially enjoyed babysitting and spending time with her loved ones. Two of her favorite activities were reading avidly and going fishing with her husband. Along with this, Vivian dearly enjoyed attending church, studying scripture, and learning about theology. She was a kind person that always made those she came into contact with better people. Vivian will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Bird; her parents, Lawrence and Edith DeLozier; one sister, Jeanie Spahn.
Vivian is survived by her children: Ronald (Eileen) Winget, Charissa (David) Snider, Larry (Laura) Winget, Kenny Bird, Penny (John) Hudson, Stephen (Cindy) Bird; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one sister, Helen Towry; along with many extended family and good friends.
