Vernon Joseph Cook, 43, son of Norman J. and Jacquelyn B. (Schussler) Cook, was born February 1, 1967 in Clinton, Missouri. He departed this life December 28, 2010 at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.
Vernon liked hunting, especially deer, and also fishing and camping. He enjoyed being outdoors and had worked several years helping local farmers. He had also worked for Mott's Meat Company in Rockville, Missouri. He was good at woodworking and liked making projects from barn wood. He was talented at refinishing and repairing wooden items. Vernon enjoyed watching comedy shows and was always quick with a joke. He was a good cook and created his own recipes and new dishes for others to try.
Preceding Vernon in death was his father, Norman. He is survived by his mother, Jackie Cook of Montrose, Missouri; his six sisters and one brother: Vicki and husband Doug Strope of Belton, Missouri, Cheryl and husband Kyle Parks of Cowgill, Missouri, Janet and husband Russell Bracher, Carla and husband Kim Eye, Carolyn and husband Kent Hart all of Montrose, Missouri, Jamie Cook and wife Sheri of Eagle Rock, Missouri and Colleen and husband B.C. LeDoux of Las Vegas, Nevada; and numerous nieces and nephews.
