Verna Lee Kloer, daughter of Leo and Isabel (Goth) Brownsberger, was born September 26, 1927 in Henry County, Missouri. She passed away January 10, 2009 at her home in Montrose, Missouri at 81 years of age.
Verna Lee grew up in the Germantown and Montrose communities and has lived there all of her life. Maurice "Shorty" Kloer and Verna Lee were united in marriage June 8, 1948 at St. Ludger's Catholic Church in Germantown, Missouri and they were blessed with one daughter.
Mrs. Kloer was a seamstress and had worked for the Calhoun Hatchery and then the Unitog Sewing Factory in Clinton, Missouri for over 30 years. She enjoyed sewing, needlework and handwork of all kinds and was also an excellent cook. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Montrose. Verna Lee loved her family and was especially proud of her great-granddaughter. She collected salt and pepper shakers and liked to go to auctions.
Preceding Verna Lee in death were her parents, her husband and one brother Charles Brownsberger. Survivors include her daughter Patricia Putthoff of Kansas City, Kansas, one granddaughter Kimberly and husband Robert Gaylord of Deepwater, Missouri, one great-granddaughter Kristina Gaylord of Topeka, Kansas and one sister Mary Jane and husband Bob Hurshey of Gladstone, Missouri.
