Appleton City, Missouri on
Monday, November 26, 2012 at
2:00 p.m.

VISITATION will be held at the funeral home before the service between 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.

INTERMENT will be at
Kidd's Chapel Cemetery,
rural Appleton City, Missouri

The family suggest MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS to
St. Luke's Hospital - Neurosurgical Unit. Contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home.

Tonya Mae Foster, 25, daughter of Richard E. and Debra S. Foster, was born September 9, 1987 in Osceola, Missouri. She passed away peacefully at Appleton City Manor Nursing Home on November 21, 2012.

Tonya grew up in the St. Clair and Henry County area, attending five years of school at Montrose, Missouri before transferring to the Fulton, Missouri School for the Deaf. Following her graduation in 2006, Tonya moved to Savannah, Missouri and worked mainly as a volunteer through the Deaf Club based in St. Joseph, Missouri. She held the office of vice president in her club.

Family and friends were of the utmost importance to Tonya. She loved all her family and cherished each of her many friends. She had a love of life and real zest for living. As a deaf person with other physical hurdles she viewed life as a challenge. "Can't" was not in her vocabulary and she never left anyone without giving them a smile. Facebook and texting on her phone were wonderful technological helps which allowied her to stay close in communication with family and friends. She was very fluent at sign language and taught her little brothers to sign and others as well.

Tonya really enjoyed bowling and was a diehard Chiefs and KU Jayhawk fan, following and defending them no matter what.

Tonya was much loved and admired by family and friends who shared in her life. Her memory will be cherished and she will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Preceding Tonya in death was her maternal grandmother, Viola Mae Carrol and paternal grandparents, David W. "Dub" and Wilma May Foster. Survivors include: her father, Rick Foster of Montrose, Missouri; her mother, Debbie Foster of Osceola, Missouri; her three brothers, David James "D.J." Foster of Osceola, Richard Todd Foster of Clinton, Missouri and River Meerkatz of Osceola; one nephew, Weston Gaige Foster of Urich, Missouri; two nieces, Hailey Renee Foster and Gracie Foster both of Urich; and her maternal grandfather, James Carroll of Osceola.
