Marcella May "Sally" Cook, daughter of Edward and Goldie Marie (Frey) Sebade, was born May 29, 1920 in Emerson, Nebraska. She departed this life at Ellett Memorial Hospital in Appleton City, Missouri March 11, 2010 at 89 years of age.
Sally was born and raised in Nebraska. Sally and LeRoy J. Cook were united in marriage May 25, 1944 while he was home on leave. He was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska during World War II and they later lived in Great Falls, Montana. Sally and LeRoy moved to rural Montrose, Missouri soon after LeRoy's discharge from the service and they had remained on the family farm until 1988 at which time they moved to Clinton, Missouri.
Sally attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Montrose for many years and later Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Clinton, Missouri. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and caring for her flowers. She also loved square dancing and had been a member of the Bates County Star Squares, Apple Dumplings, Jacks R Better and Golen Valley Squares dance clubs.
Preceding Sally in death were her husband LeRoy; a granddaughter Cheryl Swaters, two sisters, Betty Vosteen and Laurene Lueth; and one brother Ervin Sebade. Survivors include her four children: Joyce Swaters and husband Jim of Montrose, Missouri, Roger Cook and wife Virgie of Clinton, Missouri, Karen Volmer and husband Ron of Pleasant Hill, Missouri and Keith Cook and wife Kemmy of Montrose, Missouri; one sister Mollianne Larson and husband Erwin of Emerson, Nebraska; and four sisters-in-law, Lulene Sebade of Emerson, Nebraska, Margaret Cook of Butler, Missouri, Dorothy Cook of Clinton, Missouri and Pat Cook of Raytown, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends
