Obituary

A MEMORIAL PRAYER SERVICE for Ruth will be held at Hill and Son Funeral Home in Appleton City, Missouri on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 10:00 a.m.

OFFICIANTING will be Father Thomas Hermes.

VISITATION will be at the funeral home preceding the service from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m.

INURNMENT will be at St. Ludger's Cemetery in Germantown, Missouri immediately following the service.

Ruth's wishes were for any MEMORIAL donations to be made to St. Mary's School in Montrose, MO.

Ruth Marie Reimer, 91, of Montrose, Missouri was born March 15, 1923 in Germantown, Missouri to Lawrence B. and Hilda (Licher) Schmedding. She departed this life at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota July 22, 2014.
On July 14, 1976 Ruth and Peter W. Reimer were united in marriage in Devil's Lake, North Dakota. She worked in a café for a short time as a waitress. Ruth loved being in the North Dakota wilderness and Rocky Mountains of Montana where she, Peter and their family enjoyed night fishing together. She also enjoyed gardening. Peter died in November 1998 and Ruth moved back to Montrose, Missouri in 1999 where she had lived until her death. She was a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Montrose.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; all of her siblings and their spouses: Harry Schmedding (Eleanor), Herschel Schmedding (Adeline), Julian (Sarah "Imogene") and Amanda "Fredericka" Bergschneider (Elmer). Survivors include one son, Robert Salmon and wife Susan of Appleton City, Missouri; four grandchildren: Josh Salmon (Lawanna), Zeb Salmon (Abby), Abagail Calton (Kelley) and Sarah Butler (Jon); 10 great-grandchildren all of Missouri; several nieces and nephews; Six step-children: Bill Reimer (Rhonda), John Reimer (Carolyn), Mark Reimer (Patti), Harold Reimer (Lori) Maggi Gadaire, Eva Riendeau (Jerome); 20 step-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren all of North Dakota.
