Ruth was born July 25, 1920 to Paul and Agnes (Phillip) Fischer on the family farm near Prairie City, Missouri and passed into eternal life with Jesus Christ on March 26, 2015 in Appleton City, Missouri.
Ruth was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Prairie City. In that same church she was married to Victor Rapp on January 26, 1941. Together they farmed and raised four children while living on Victor's family farm until he became ill when they then moved to Appleton City. She faithfully cared for her husband until his death on October 1, 1973. She was a wonderful, faithful, kind woman who gave her love unconditionally to her family and friends. Always quite the cook, she provided many meals for her family when they visited and especially enjoyed her kids and grandkids at Christmas time. Nobody could make mashed potatoes, chicken and noodles or bake a pie quite like Grandma!
Ruth also loved quilting and made sure each grandchild got their own quilt from Grandma Ruth. She also enjoyed traveling, and the summer getaways she had with her kids and grandkids.
After moving to Appleton City she became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she faithfully attended and was a member of the Ladies Aid. Ruth enjoyed her neighbors on 6th Street and always appreciated the way they looked out for her and each other.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband Victor, daughter Sharon Flesch, brother Donald Fischer and his wife Leanna, brother Junior Fischer and brother-in-law Edson Smith.
She is survived by daughter Geraldine Wineteer and husband Steve, son-in-law William Flesch, son Gaylen Rapp and wife Carolyn and son Paul Rapp and wife Paulette. Grandchildren Paul Buschkemper (Dana), Teresa Laird (Jeff), Travis Flesch (Carol), Sarah Haines (Mike), Eric Flesch (Melissa), Dietrich Flesch (Mandy), Angela Seep (Ben), Rachel Lierz (Jim), Nathan Rapp (Whitney) and Ryan Rapp (Travauna). Her sister Verna Smith and sister-in-law Charlotte Fischer also survive. She also leaves 20 great grandchildren, many cousins, many nieces and nephews and lots of friends and neighbors.
