Ruby Della Donnohue, daughter of Clyde Cecil and Gertrude Ann (Laney) Piepmeier, was born December 29, 1911 in Appleton City, Missouri. Ruby departed this life peacefully December 21, 2008 at Appleton City Manor at 96 years of age.
Ruby was united in marriage to Emerson Kirk December 23, 1939 in Calhoun, Missouri. They moved to Jefferson City, Missouri in 1958 where they made their home. Ruby worked for the State Board of Cosmetology as a Cosmetologist during this time. In 1970 they moved back to Appleton City where Mr. Kirk later passed away. Ruby and Vern Donnohue were united in marriage August 1, 1980 in Appleton City.
Ruby was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church and attended until her health failed. She was also a member of P.E.O. Chapter CC. She like playing bridge and loved traveling with her husband and friends. Ruby was a great cook and enjoyed sharing her gift with her family.
Preceding Ruby in death were her parents; both her husbands; her two brothers, J.D. Piepmeier and C.L. Piepmeier; her sister Pearl Kilmer; and one niece Nancy Piepmeier. Survivors include a brother-in-law Jim Kilmer of Hannibal, Missouri, a sister-in-law Jean Piepmeier of Appleton City, Missouri, and many nieces and nephews.
