The SERVICE for Ron will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2019 at Hill and Son Funeral Home in Appleton City, Missouri.

The MINISTER officiating at the service will be Jerry Johannigmeier.

The VISITATION will precede the service from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.

A MILITARY GRAVESIDE SERVICE will be presented by the Appleton City VFW Post #11242 and the Missouri Honor Guard.

INTERMENT will be in the Appleton City Cemetery, Appleton City, Missouri.

The family suggests any MEMORIAL donations be made to Heartland Hospice.

Ronald Edward McEwan was born after his twin brother, to Warren Edward and Armilda (Louise) McEwan east of Appleton City, Missouri on December 4, 1942.  He passed away on November 17, 2019 at his home in Appleton City at 76 years of age.

Ron graduated from Appleton City High School in 1961, then Springfield Draughon Business University.

He was baptized at a young age and joined Trinity Methodist Church in Appleton City.

He married Peggy Redinger and to this union three children were born: Michael, Patricia and Rhonda.

Ron enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam era, but was sent to Germany and Korea.  Deciding to make a career in the service, he retired in 1996.  He then worked at the county jail, did carpentry work and enjoyed life.

Ron and Shirley Ann (Foster) Blackwell were married February 20, 2000.  Ron and Shirley were active members of the Methodist Church and currently the Church of God (Holiness).

They enjoyed traveling when Ron was able.  He loved sharing photos and stories of their travels.  He spent many hours building projects in his woodworking shop, often making things for others.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, Warren.  He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of the home; his mother, Armilda of Appleton City; his children: Mike McEwan and wife Amber of Appleton City, Tricia Crawson and husband John of Round Rock, Texas, Rhonda Wilson and husband Mike of Osceola, Missouri, and Paul Blackwell of Appleton City; his twin brother, Don McEwan of Appleton City; nine grandchildren: Jimmy and Peggy Sue McEwan, Nathan Pettet, Sean McEwan, Michael McEwan, Sarah Colby, Mandy Litton, Brooke and Mitchel Wilson; seven great-grandchildren; and many friends who will miss him.
