The SERVICE for Mr. Breon will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Appleton City, Missouri.

The presiding MINISTER will be Pastor Larry Sorrells.

VISITATION will precede the service from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at the church.

INTERMENT will be in the Appleton City Cemetery, Appleton City, Missouri.

The family suggests any MEMORIAL donations be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, Appleton City, Missouri.  These may be sent to the funeral home or given the day of the service.

Robert Franklin "Bob" Breon passed away peacefully on January 18, 2019 in Kansas City, Missouri.  He was the youngest child of Claude and Jessie (Barnett) Breon, born on May 6, 1931 near Lowry City, Missouri.  Bob's family moved to a farm west of Appleton City, Missouri, during his formative years, learning a strong work ethic.  He then attended Appleton City High School, where he excelled as athlete, graduating in 1949.  Bob remained interested in sports the rest of his life, rarely being without his Kansas City Royals cap.

Shortly after completing his education, Robert and Esther Lou Dines were married on May 8, 1952, and to this union two sons were born: Stephan and John.  Upon fulfilling his service in the United States Army, the family lived on a farm east of Appleton City, where he kept a small dairy herd.  During the early 1960s he became an insurance agent and later got his real estate license.  They later moved to town near his business office.  For many years he operated Breon Real Estate and Insurance, which stood as a landmark on Appleton City's Main Street.

Apart from his career, Bob was baptized and joined Trinity Methodist Church in 1952.  Thus, he was baptized, had a birthday, and got married within a month.  He remained an active, lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church.  Over the years he served on nearly every board and committee in the church administration.  He also taught many Sunday school classes, from youth to older adults as well as serving as the Sunday School Superintendent for a time.  On occasion, when the church was without a youth group, he would start one and then hand it off to someone else.  Often Bob fondly recalled visiting someone in the community and inviting them to church.  Beyond his church, he always proved an engaged community member, serving on the original board of directors for the Appleton City Senior Housing, the Optimist Club, an assistant Scout Master, the public administrator of St. Clair County, and the delegate for the Missouri Republican Party Convention.  In their retirement Robert and Esther Lou moved to an assisted living facility in Kansas City in 2014 to be near family.  Bob was a true gentleman, as well mannered, humble, and kind of a person as ever graced the Appleton City community.  His family, friends, and all that knew him will dearly miss his warm smile and elegant charm.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Jessie (Barnett) Breon; his sister, Jean; and a brother, Edwin.

He is survived by his wife, Esther Lou, of Kansas City; sons, Steve and wife Cindy of Kansas City, John and wife Nancy of Durant, OK; grandchildren: Bobby Breon and wife Leslie of Olathe, KS, Andrea Daniels and husband Billy of Overland Park, KS, Rachel Myers and husband Zach of Norman, OK, Eric Breon of Dallas, TX, , Eli Breon of Norman, OK; one great-grandson, Charles Myers; along with many extended family and close friends that will deeply miss him.
