Robert Dale Allen was born on October 7, 1933, the son of Miller H. and Daisy Glendora (Lauver) Allen. He passed away peacefully at Appleton City Manor in Appleton City, Missouri, on Thursday May 12, 2023, aged 89. Robert grew up in the Council Bluffs, Iowa, area and shortly after completing his education, he enlisted in United States Army, where he served his country proudly for many years. He worked as an electrician for the railroad throughout his life.

He was involved in several astronomy clubs and served as the president of the League of National Organization of Astronomy Clubs in 1988. Along with this, Robert enjoyed traveling in Europe while in the service, playing chess, and being involved with the Golden Apples Senior Club. He was a devout member of the First Baptist Church in Appleton City, where he attended Sunday School and enjoyed worship hymns.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents: Miller H. and Daisy Glendora (Lauver) Allen; a brother, George Miller; and one sister, Doris Thomas

He is survived by his three sons, James, Shannon, and Brian Allen, and many good friends, who will miss him dearly.
