Ricky Dean Blankenship was born on August 8, 1954 the son of Willard Dean and Opal Irene (Gregory) Blankenship.  He passed away peacefully at home in Rockville, Missouri, on September 14, 2023 aged 69. Rick grew up in the Appleton City area, where he attended school. After completing his education, he worked many jobs as a laborer, including at Blanchard Feed and Elevator, Hull Fertilizer, Appleton City Public Works, and finished his career at Hudson School District as the custodian. During this time he married Betty Morris on February 3, 1978, his wife of 45 years. They shared four wonderful children.

Rick had a wonderful sense of humor and always enjoyed visiting with his good friends. His children and family were the pride of his life. Additionally, his favorite hobbies were gardening and fixing things. Rick also took great pride in his dogs that he loved very much. He will be deeply missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Willard Dean and Opal Irene (Gregory) Blankenship; and one granddaughter, Skyla Blankenship.

Rick is survived by his wife Betty (Morris) Blankenship; four children: Randy (Kim) Blankenship, Sheryl (Toby Ray) Sterns, Julia Wingard, Kathy Atkins; two sisters: Rhonda Blankenship and Robin Blankenship; 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and two on the way; 3 great-great-grandchildren;  along with many extended family and good friends, who will miss him dearly.
