After 85 years on this Earth, Paul Edmondson earned his reward and was called home to Jesus on October 9, 2013.

Paul was born on December 25, 1927 in Morehouse Parish, Louisiana to Robert and Annie Mae (Porter) Edmondson. On December 5, 1947, he married Fannie Pearl Carney with the added blessing of seven children. They spent 65 wonderful years together which Paul would claim were "never boring".

During his time here, Paul was many things to many, including devoted husband, loving father to their seven children, doting grandfather and great friend.

After serving in both the United States Navy and Army Air Corps, Paul held several different jobs. He and his family finally settled down in Appleton City, Missouri where he was a Police Officer and later the Mayor. He was also a pastor for several churches, culminating at the Church of God in Butler, Missouri.

Paul was known to be an avid hunter and fisherman, always enjoying being with friends casting a line or sending his dogs to stir up the rabbits or squirrels. His green thumb was evident by the way his garden always flourished. Many a neighbor stopped to comment on Paul's garden and walked away with a sack of tomatoes or handful of corn. On a Sunday afternoon, Paul could be found napping in his old blue recliner while listening to the Royals baseball game on the radio. He was also well known for his quick wit and ability to draw a smile.

Preceding Paul in death were his parents; sisters, Ocen McGee and Patsy Murphey; an infant sister and brother; and two grandsons, Scott Adams and Nathan Eli Edmondson.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Fannie; their seven children: Glen Edmondson (Linda), Brenda Cannon (Wendell), Paul E. Edmondson (Nancy), Elaine Vielhauer (Robert), Dewayne Edmondson (Yvonne), Maurice O'Banion (Tim), Arnold Edmondson (Donnine); sister, Inez Edmondson; brother, Leonard Edmondson; 23 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
