Paul Lavern Cauthon, the son of Richard Cauthon and Helen (Anderson) Cauthon Paur, was born on October 18, 1956 in Kansas City, Missouri. He passed away at his home in Appleton City, Missouri on July 16, 2009 at the age of 52 years, 8 months and 29 days.
Paul graduated from Lowry City High School in 1974. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1975. He spent a year and a half in the Philippines and was honorably discharged as a Corporal in 1979 from Camp Pendleton, California.
He was united in marriage to Sharon Witherspoon in June 1986 in Clinton Missouri. To this union two children (twins) were born in 1988, Matthew Jared and Holly Leann.
Paul was a member of the First Baptist Church in Appleton City. He was a charter member of the Elks Lodge in Butler.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycles and car racing. His dream was to someday own a Harley Ultra Classic Electra Glide trike and travel. Spending time with his family was a priority, especially attending the Cauthon family reunion. Also, another enjoyment of his was spending time with his classmates from the graduating class of 1974.
The past few years he really enjoyed spending time with his children and afternoon outings with his mother and niece, Madison. He and Holly had just returned from a trip to Yuma, Arizona to visit Matthew, which he enjoyed greatly.
Preceding Paul in death were his grandparents Fred and Lula (Bumgardener) Cauthon and Clarence and Christine (Regan) Anderson; his wife Sharon; three uncles, Clarence Anderson, Orval Cauthon and Ervin Cauthon; an aunt Veda Glaser; and a nephew Tony Rife.
Survivors include his children, Matthew Jared Cauthon of Yuma, Arizona and Holly Leann Cauthon of the home; father Richard Cauthon and friend Phyllis Harris; mother and step-father Helen and Don Paur; brother Steve (Faye) Cauthon; sister Diane Cauthon, sister Janet (Jim) Arnold, sister Nancy (Alvin) Lowe and sister Christa (Jason) McGhee; numerous nieces and nephews; aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.
Paul will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
