Orvilla Carrie Wade, 78, was born June 16, 1945, in Collins, Missouri to Orville Washington and Magnolia (Underwood) Rector. She departed this life surrounded by her loving family July 7, 2023 at Ellett Memorial Hospital in Appleton City, Missouri.
Orvilla also lived in Osceola and Lowry City, MO throughout her life, settling in Appleton City, MO in 1975. She was united in marriage to Luther Charles Wade April 19, 1964. They were blessed with four children.
In addition to being a wife and mother, Orvilla received a degree in Child Development to work for the Head Start program nurturing preschoolers for many years. She also had worked for Share & Care and had worked as a cook at a local restaurant and Ellett Memorial Hospital for many years. Gardening, sewing, and crocheting were Orvilla's hobbies, and she was a member of the First Christian Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Preceding Orvilla in death were her parents, Orville and Magnolia Rector; stepmother Ruth Rector; husband Luther Charles Wade; son Chuck William Wade; and siblings: Orville Rector, Jr., Keith Rector, James Rector, June Rector, Raymond Rector, Francis Rector, Mildred Bryant, Lee Rector and William Rector. Survivors include her children: Kevin Wade (Wendie), Bryan Wade (Cynthia) and Jennifer Mahurin; her grandchildren: Nathan Wade (Cayla), Tyler Wade (Hayli), Garrett Wade (Rachel), Colt Wade, Caitlin Wade, Victoria Mahurin (Alex), William Mahurin and Nicholas Mahurin; great-grandchildren: Sadie, Brody, Brenli, Lincoln, Elliott, and Magnolia; brother Rolly Rector; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers please donate to the Appleton City VFW Ladies Auxiliary or Ellett Memorial Hospital Foundation.
