The SERVICE for Norma will be held Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Hill and Son Funeral Home in Appleton City, Missouri.

The MINISTER will be Pastor David Hill

VISITATION will be held preceding the service from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.

INTERMENT will be in Appleton City Cemetery, Appleton City, Missouri.

The family suggests any MEMORIAL gifts be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.

Norma C. Moldovan, 88, passed away peacefully at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, on April 9, 2018. The youngest daughter of William Carl and Minnie (Stevener) Niemann, she was born on November 6, 1929 in Appleton City, Missouri. Norma graduated from Appleton City High School in 1947. Shortly after completing her education she married Guy Samuel Rector: to this union Penny, Brenda, Marsha, and Guy. Later she married Gene Moldovan. Moreover, Norma was proud of her 25 year career as a supervisor at Unitog Uniform Company in Warrensburg, Missouri. Following her retirement, she went back to work for Care Connection in Warrensburg for another 15 years, until she became physically unable.

The most important part of Norma's life was unquestionably her family. She spent many hours with her children and later her grandchildren. Throughout her life she proved a master seamstress, making and altering garments for her family as well as working for hire among the community. Norma was an amazing cook, especially famous for her barbeque sauce and her strawberry wine. She dearly enjoyed formal dancing and singing, often waking her children up to lively music to the rhythm of pots and pans.   She was baptized at and a life member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Norma will be deeply missed by her friends and family that loved her very much.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Minnie Niemann; both of her husbands, Guy and Gene; an infant sister; three brothers: Bill Niemann, Vernon Niemann, and Gene Niemann.

Norma is survived by her children: Penny (Charles) Lund, Brenda DeMattei (life partner, John Busenhart), Marsha (Ciro) Vazquez, and Guy (Kelly) Rector; grandchildren: Jeremy and Casey Lund, Ashley Herbert, Andrew and Alison Vazquez, and Douglas Rector; eight great-grandchildren; along with many more relatives and friends.
