Norma Neita (Smith) Huffman passed away peacefully at the Appleton City Manor in Appleton City, Missouri, on December 19, 2018. The daughter of Charles Aaron and Beulah Adina (Johnson) Smith was born on May 20, 1926 in Gorce, Texas. She graduated from Marshall High School where she was a cheerleader, and then business school, both in Texas in 1944. Upon completing her education, Norma married James Huffman on February 24, 1945, her husband of more than 44 years after they were set up on a blind date. To this union three children were born: Sharon, Judith, and Deborah. James then moved a city girl to the Rockville area in 1948 and bought a farm, where they lived all of their life. Even though it was a culture shock, Norma nevertheless flourished bottle-feeding piglets and learning to cook.  Norma worked hard on the farm and spent much of her time raising her family.

The most cherished times of her life were spent with family. She dearly loved moments spent with her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Apart from this, she was a member of the Rebecca Lodge, the Osage Club, and the Rockville United Methodist Church. Norma never lost many of her city ways. She was known to go fishing wearing make-up and all her valuable jewelry and also pulling weeds from her garden in pearls. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all that had the pleasure of knowing her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Aaron and Beulah Adina (Johnson) Smith; her husband, James Huffman; a daughter, Sharon Kay

Norma is survived by her, two daughters: Judith Lauck and Deborah Blackshear; 7 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.
