The SERVICE for Eldo will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 20, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church in Prairie City, Missouri.

The MINISTER will be Pastor Joel W. Meyer.

VISITATION will be 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. preceding the service.

A MILITARY GRAVESIDE SERVICE will be presented by the Appleton City VFW Post #11242 and the Missouri Honor Guard.

INTERMENT will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Prairie City, Missouri.

The family suggest in lieu of flowers that any MEMORIAL donations be made to Zion Lutheran Church.



Nicholas Eldo Rapp was born at home on January 31, 1929, the second son of John and Freda (Bracher) Rapp of Rockville, Missouri. Eldo was baptized on February 24, 1929 at Zion Lutheran Church in Prairie City, Missouri. He was confirmed on April 18, 1943 and graduated from 8th grade at Zion Lutheran School. He attended two years of high school at Rockville, Missouri after which he worked on the family farm and helped at several neighbor's farms as well. He also worked a year at the grocery store in Rockville for Joe Myer.

Eldo was drafted into the Army during the Korean War on May 1, 1951, spending one year in the United States and one year in Germany with the A Battery of the 330th Field Artillery Battalion. Eldo was discharged on April 9, 1953 and returned to the family farm, farming with his parents and brother Leo.

Eldo married Frieda May Schweer on April 13, 1958 and they started their family farm, working side by side for the 59 years of their marriage. Two sons blessed this marriage, Wade in 1959 and Myron in 1963
Eldo was active in his church, holding several offices through the years and always faithful in attending. He enjoyed travelling, keeping in touch with army buddies and attending his army reunions. He loved hunting, fishing and evening drives admiring the countryside, crops and wildlife.
He departed this life peacefully at his home on October 16, 2017 with family at his side. Preceding him in death were his parents; his sister-in-law, Irene Rapp. Survivors include his wife, Frieda; sons, Wade (Aylesa) and Myron (Kathy); six grandchildren: Nick (Lora), Nolan (Kelci), Layne (Laurie), Ayren, Levi and Jacob; and one great-grandson, Kasen. Other survivors include his three brothers: Leo, James (Vanita) and Floyd; one sister, Yvonne (Jim) McIntire; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
