Millard V. Brown, son of Charles D. and Edna Jane (Oliver) Brown, was born in Montrose, Missouri January 13, 1912. He passed away Sunday, September 6, 2009 at Appleton City Manor Nursing Home in Appleton City, Missouri at 97 years of age.
Millard attended school at Montrose where he graduated in May of 1930. He lived and farmed all of his life on the family farm near Montrose except for the time he spent in the U.S. Army during World War II. Millard joined the Army in 1942 and was stationed in North Africa and Italy being awarded two bronze stars before he was honorably discharged in 1945.
Millard was always happy to be at home on his farm and spent most of his time there. He was a member of the Montrose V.F.W. Post 8820.
Preceding Millard in death were his parents, his brother Martin Cecil Brown and his sister Maud Marie Kelland. Surviving are several nieces and nephews including Donald L. Thomas of Sanger, California, Winifred Granger of Green Valley, Arizona and Charles Thomas of Bonham, Texas.
