FUNERAL SERVICES for Mildred will be held at
Hill and Son Funeral Home in Appleton City, Missouri on
Sunday, March 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.

The MINISTER will be
Reverend Mark Wilkerson.

VISITATION will be held
at the funeral home preceding the service from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.

INTERMENT will be in the Appleton City Cemetery,
Appleton City, Missouri.

The family suggests any MEMORIAL donations be made to the
Appleton City Cemetery Association.

Mildred Shoemaker, daughter of Vance Shoemaker and Grace Minerva (Swopes) Shoemaker, was born June 14, 1914 at the family's rural homestead near Appleton City, Missouri. She passed away in Appleton City on March 19, 2015 at the age of 100 years, nine months and five days.

Mildred spent her entire life in Appleton City, graduating from Appleton City High School. She was employed for several years at both the Lee Funeral Home and Eckhoff-Hill Funeral Home.

The Appleton City community was important to her and she served in civic organizations including The Daughters of Rebekah (Rebekahs) for over 78 years and The Order of the Eastern Star for 68 years. She was a charter member of the Appleton City Garden Club which has been in existence for 60 years.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Barbara Pursley, Nadine Mitchell and Earline Bigley as well as by Carl Chambers, her very special friend and long-time companion. She is survived by her sister, Grace Foale of Rolla, Missouri. She also leaves behind nephews, nieces, several cousins, great nephews and nieces and many friends who love her dearly. She will be greatly missed by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
