Mildred Mae Dietz, was born in Lowry City, Missouri January 9, 1921 the fourth child and eldest girl of thirteen born to William Henry and Elpha Leona (Simmons) Snyder. She departed this life at 90 years of age on January 3, 2012 in Kansas City, Missouri.

Although Mildred had only attended school through the 8th grade, she had gone back to earn her GED and became a licensed practical nurse. She had worked at Shawnee Mission Medical Center about 25 years and still met with former co-workers for monthly luncheons.

Mildred loved her family and enjoyed reunions and family gatherings. She was an avid reader enjoying all types of literature which allowed her to be a wealth of knowledge to those she came in contact with. She enjoyed collecting knives and dolls and liked to go riding through the countryside reminiscing about who lived where and sharing information about them with those in the car.

Preceding Mildred in death were her parents Henry and Elpha Snyder; her husband Ted Dietz; a daughter Ruby Owsley; four brothers, William Lester Snyder, Edmond Snyder, Ernest Snyder and an infant brother; four sisters, Neola Fae Snyder, Lorene Davis, Wanda Gragg and Georgia Sampson; her friend and companion John Clark; a grandson-in-law Brian Hager. Survivors include her two sons, Ward Dietz and wife Aileen of White Bluff, Tennessee and Rex Dietz of the home; Seven grandchildren, Frank E. Owsley, Jr. and wife Linda, Barbara Varvil and husband Martin, Charles Owsley and wife Rita, Howard Owsley and wife Deborah, Susan Mayfield and husband Charles, Jenifer Hager, Larry Dietz and wife Treva; 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; one brother LeRoy Snyder and wife Beverly; three sisters, Leona McMillin, Bertha Price, Shirley Pierce and Sheila Snyder; many nieces nephew cousins and friends.
