A MEMORIAL SERVICE for Michael Johnson will be held at
Hill and Son Funeral Home in
Appleton City, Missouri on
Saturday, October 19, 2013 at
5:00 p.m.

The MINISTER will be
Reverend Jonathon Deiley.

There is NO VISITATION planned. Friends may sign the register book at the funeral home or online if unable to attend the service.

Michael Lee Johnson was born on December 23, 1951 to Kenneth and Alta Johnson (both deceased), of Rockville, Missouri. He passed away Monday, October 14, 2013 in Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 61.

Michael grew up as a young boy in Kansas City, Missouri until moving to Rockville, Missouri in 1963. He attended school in Appleton City, Missouri and began his career as a bricklayer after the 11th grade.

Michael was brother to Kenneth Johnson, Gary Johnson, David Johnson and Robert Johnson (deceased). He was married to Johannah Maxine Monteil, of Rockville, Missouri on November 12, 1978 in Appleton City, Missouri. They had three children: Jennifer Jo Nall, married to Dan Nall, Joseph Frederick Arcand, married to Adrienne Gunzel, and Jody Elaine Hellwig, married to Kaleb Hellwig. He was grandfather to Dennis Buckley of Clinton, Missouri, Davin Buckley of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, Garrett and Shelby Nall of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, Natalie, Alyssa and Kaitlin Arcand of Lansing, Kansas, Kinley and Kie Hellwig of Appleton City, Missouri. He was uncle to very many nieces and nephews.

Mike was a very accomplished bricklayer and stonemason. He continued the family trade for over 30 years. Mike loved the outdoors and was involved in saddle clubs, trail rides, fishing trips, and family campouts.

Mike loved spending time with the grandkids and was always excited about seeing his grandbabies. He always looked forward to being on the riverbanks, fishing for that trophy flathead or just that pan sized catfish. Any fish that was caught was used for fish fries, where every friend and family member was invited. Mike was always interested in traveling, having taken his family to live in Alaska while he worked on fishing boats, living in Oklahoma working on oil rigs and traveling to visit his children who lived all over the United States. Even after years of living away from Rockville, he eventually made his way back home to live out the rest of his life.

Those who knew Mike will always consider him a true friend. He will be missed by all who ever met him.
