Mary Madge (Cowan) Cook, daughter of John Harris Cowan and Susan (Garver) Cowan, was born August 15, 1924 in Greenfield, Missouri. She married Charles Floyd Cook on October 14, 1944 in Appleton City, Missouri.
Mary Madge Cook graduated from Lowry City High School and spent most of her life in Appleton City, Missouri. She was a cook at the Appleton City Schools and at the hospital. Mrs. Cook served as City Collector. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Appleton City, Missouri.
Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, Lela Ramalia and Sharon Jones, and two brothers, Harry Cowan and Jack Cowan.
Survivors include her two daughters: Mary Martin and husband Rodger of Kansas City, Missouri and Judy Cook of Kansas City, Missouri; two grandsons, Jason and Michael Martin of Kansas City, Missouri; two step-grandchildren, Johnny Waters of Kansas City, Missouri and Angie Embertson of Liberty, Missouri; two sisters, Nora Green of Appleton City, Missouri and Peggy Bray of Osceola, Missouri; brother-in-law, Lloyd Ramalia of Appleton City, Missouri; and sister-in-law, Kate Cowan of Sugar Creek, Missouri
Mrs. Cook was well loved by her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, gardening, and served her church faithfully.
