Mary Elise (Brubaker) Houston, 70, daughter of John Franklin and Leotta Mae (Little) Foster, was born January 14, 1941 in Clinton, Missouri. She departed this life at the Golden Years nursing center in Harrisonville, Missouri after a hard fought illness took her to her heavenly home.

Mary had lived in the Montrose, Missouri area all of her life. She dedicated her life to caring for her family; beginning as a loving wife, then mother and later grandmother. She was a strong, determined woman and very much her own person. She loved her family and was tremendously proud of each one of them and all of their accomplishments. She attended as many events as were possible that her children were a part of, and just never missed any events her local grandchildren were involved with. Mary was a "people person" and she could never make a short trip to Casey's very short. She would always run into several people she knew and they would visit. Anyone who knew Mary loved her and she genuinely cared about her friends, family and those she could help. She was not afraid to let them know she cared.

Mary was united in marriage to David Brubaker, Sr. and they raised their family of six. David passed away in 1985. On April 23, 2004 Mary and Lemmie Eugene "Geno" Houston were married in Butler, Missouri. They spent a short but wonderful time together.. They were both faithful members of the Kingsville Restoration Branch of Jesus Christ's Church.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband David Brubaker, Sr., one step-daughter Sherrie Brubaker, one brother D.W. Foster and one brother-in-law Eddie Roberts. Survivors include her husband Geno of the home; her children, David Brubaker and wife Linda of Osceola, Missouri, three daughters, Julie West and companion Shane of Columbia, Missouri, Arnita and husband Troy Garrison of Lake Placid, Florida, and Beth and husband Anthony Lippa of Montrose, Missouri; one step daughter Lynn Brubaker O'rourke of Virginia; her grandchildren, Eden and Kendra West, Dakota, Samantha, Travis and Jessica Foster, Nathan Gibson, Trenton Garrison, Madilynn and Jaden Lippa; two step-grandchildren; two sisters, Etta Mae Roberts of Kansas City, Missouri and Rhonda and husband Bob Morris of Butler, Missouri; and five brothers, Leroy, John, Clifford, Charles and Harold Foster. Mary will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
