The SERVICE for Tommy will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 31, 2017 at Hill and Son Funeral Home, Appleton City, Missouri.

The MINISTER will be Pastor Nick Van Dam.

VISITATION will be held at the funeral home between 12:00 noon and 2:00 p.m. preceding the service.

INTERMENT will be in Rockville Cemetery, Rockville, Missouri.

Tommy wished any MEMORIAL donations be made to Rockville Cemetery.

Marlyne "Tommy" (Wood) Gragg the daughter of John Emmett and Anna Henrietta (Finklang) Wood, passed away peacefully at her home in Rockville, Missouri, on July 24, 2017. Born and raised in the Rockville area, she graduated from Rockville High School in 1949. Shortly after completing her education, "Tommy" met and married the love of her life, "June" Edmund Gragg in 1950.

Nevertheless, in her youth "Tommy" joined a traveling basketball league, where she started for the Redheads. This was the first professional women's team in the United States, and they always had to compete against men's teams. Apart from such adventures, she lived most of her life on a farm outside of Rockville, until she and "June" moved into town in 1967, where they opened a blacksmith forge and liquor store. After selling these businesses, Tommy worked at Mott's meat locker for 25 years, but always loved farming the most. She deeply enjoyed participating in the Nevada bowling league as well as serving the Rockville United Methodist Church. There "Tommy" played the piano for 30 years, served as a Sunday school teacher, and helped with every church function so long as she was able. She will be deeply missed within the Rockville community and mostly by her dear friends and family that meant so much to her.

Preceding her in death were her parents, John and Anna; husband "June"; one brother, J.E. (Fannie) Wood, a sister, Leanna (Roy Martin & Donald) Fischer; and one niece, Barbara Wood.

She is survived by four nephews: James (Donna) Wood, Howard (Jody) Wood, David (Rhonda) Dykal, Ronnie Dykal, and adopted nephew Ron (Debra) Kilgore; three nieces: Cindy (Terry) Waits, Donna Dykal, and Nancy (Mike) Fitzgerald; and many great-nieces and nephews as well as numerous cousins. "Tommy's" family will deeply miss her mater-of-fact personality, work ethic, and sense of humor.
