The SERVICE for Marlyn will be held at Hill and Son Funeral Home
Appleton City, Missouri on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.

The MINISTER will be Wendell Corn.

VISITATION will be held at Hill and Son Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

INTERMENT will be in Taberville Cemetery, Taberville, Missouri.

The family suggests MEMORIAL contributions can be made to Grace Hospice.

Marlyn Josephine (Hodges) Dines was born May 27, 1947 in Lexington, Missouri. Her parents were Gertrude Josephine Tuders and Everett Hodges. She passed away Saturday, July 6, 2013 in Pleasant Hill, Missouri at 66 years of age.

Marlyn was first married to Laurel Edward Handley on May 11, 1964 in Kansas City, Kansas. To this union four children were born: Pamela, Joanna, Lori, and Michael. She later married the love of her life, Clyde Emery Dines on January 30, 1970 in Clinton, Missouri. Clyde passed away on May 31, 2013.

Marlyn enjoyed putting together the Hodges family reunions, big garage sales, and collecting bells, salt and pepper shakers, angels and bunnies. She was an avid quilter and handmade 10 quilts, one per child and one per grandchild.

She was a very special mother who loved fixing our hair and matching our clothes and taught us how to deep clean. Big Christmases were special to her and she worked at Sears one fall to have Christmas money. She enjoyed doing genealogy and typing a "to do" list. She loved watching soap operas on TV and always watched Jerry Lewis' annual Telethon for Muscular Dystrophy, sending in donations.

Marlyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde; brother, James Dunker; sisters: Beulah Davis, Betty Mallett, Shirley Rinck; grandsons: Travis Brewster, Richard Brewster, and Brett Handley; great-granddaughter, Phalyn Nicole Paulson.

She is survived by her children: Pam Brewster, Joanna (Jody) Allegro, Lori Chiles (Kevin), Mike Handley (Teddi); grandchildren: Casey Paulson, Heather Gunn, Shanda Foster, Tiffany Poole, Erika Handley, Joey Allegro; great-grandchildren: Madison Paulson, Cale Paulson, Hailee Gunn, Kristin Poole, Luke Poole; brother, George Hodges, Sr., sister, Catherine Corn and mother-in-law, Georgia McClure.
