Freda Marie Vogel, daughter of William H. and Clara (Lichtenaur) Goth, was born January 19, 1922 in Germantown, Missouri. She departed this life July 17, 2009 at Research Hospital in Belton, Missouri at 87 years of age.
Mrs. Vogel lived most of her life in Montrose, Missouri. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Montrose. Marie enjoyed volunteering at the Montrose Senior Center, growing flowers and spending time with her family.
Marie was united in marriage to Cecil C. Vogel on January 8, 1947 at St. Ludger's Catholic Church in Germantown, Missouri and to this union five children were born.
Preceding Marie in death were her husband Cecil in 2008; her parents; two children, Norman who died at age 14 and Louise who died at birth; a grandson Dean Schmedding; a granddaughter Karla Bauer; two sisters, Caroline Westhusing and Genevieve Vogel. Survivors include her children, Juanita Schmedding and husband Jerry, Joanne Bauer and husband Rick and Larry Vogel all of Montrose, Missouri; her grandchildren, Bill Schmedding, Barry Schmedding and wife Juli, Gregg Schmedding and wife Nicole, Ann Struchtemeyer and husband Thomas, Mark Bauer and fiancée Katie Lord and Kelly Bauer; six great-grandchildren, Jack, Jade, Jimmie, Jordan, Luke and Grace Schmedding.
