The FUNERAL SERVICE for Margaret Mae Gerard will be held at Hill and Son Funeral Home in Appleton City, Missouri on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 1:00 p.m.

The OFFICIANT for the service will be Father Thomas Hermes.

VISITATION & ROSARY will be at Hill and Son Funeral Home
on Monday, October 27, 2014 with VISITATION between 6:00 and 7:00 p.m.
and the ROSARY will be said at 7:00 p.m.

INTERMENT will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Montrose, Missouri.

The family suggest MEMORIAL gifts be given to St. Mary's Cemetery or Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Margaret Mae (Taylor) Gerard was born July 20, 1929 to Walter and Ruth (Long) Taylor. Margaret attended Central Missouri State College during the summer and taught at Browning School during the school session. Margaret was united in marriage to Joseph John Gerard at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Montrose, Missouri on June 5, 1951. Four daughters were born to this union.

Margaret spent many years as a farm wife and mother. Joe and Margaret operated the school buses for the Montrose R-14 School District for many years. After Joe's death in 1977, Margaret continued to service the district. She also worked for Green Thumb office in Clinton as an administrative assistant until her health failed.

Her joy in life was quilting and crafts. She made quilts for all four of her daughters, all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Margaret also loved to play cards, games and work puzzles.

Her greatest joy later in life was the many visits from her girls, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Margaret was able to enjoy her 85th Birthday with her family in Ozark, Missouri on July 20th.

Preceding Margaret in death was her husband Joe; her parents Walter and Ruth; sister Alice Hardin. Survivors include daughters: Ruth (Rich) Gould of West Point, Nebraska, Debbie (Jerry) Dines of Appleton City, Missouri, Denise (Joe) Gunja of Nixa, Missouri and Martha (Rick) Cook of Springfield, Missouri; eight grandchildren: Scott (Rondle) Dines of Appleton City, Missouri, Dusty (Joanna) Dines of Kansas City, Missouri, Gina Peek of Clinton, Missouri, Christopher (Noelle) Gunja of Kansas City, Missouri, Ruthie Gould (Dennis Born) of Berlin, Germany, Amanda Gould (Eric Doescher) of West Point, Nebraska, Danny Cook of Springfield, Missouri, and Lindsey Cook of Springfield, Missouri; niece Mylissa (Monty) Hilte of Montrose, Missouri; three great-grandchildren Hannah and Hailey Peek, and Taylor Dines; two great-nephews Zackary and Noah Hilte; one great-granddaughter Anna Witt; and one great-great-granddaughter Lilly Witt; several other nieces and nephews.
