The Funeral Service for Mrs. Johannigmeier will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton City, Missouri on Monday, March 31, 2014 at 1:00 p.m.

The Minister will be Pastor David Herald.

Visitation will be held at Hill and Son Funeral Home in Appleton City, Missouri on Sunday, March 30, 2014 from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.

Interment will be in Appleton City Cemetery.

The family suggests Memorials can be made to Bear Creek Cemetery, Appleton City Cemetery, or Trinity Lutheran Church.

Frances Lucile (Stephens) Johannigmeier, 88, daughter of William Irvin and Winnie Elizabeth (McColley) Stephens was born September 25, 1925 near Appleton City, Missouri. She passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at home with her only child, Betty Jo and son-in-law, Jerry by her side.

Lucile attended Wagner #77 country school for 8 years. She graduated on May 13, 1943 from Appleton City High School. She attended Central Business College in Kansas City and returned to work at Citizens Bank in Appleton City for a few years.

Lucile was baptized August 28, 1938 in the Methodist Episcopal Church in Appleton City by Rev. G. A. Moss. She was confirmed and joined the Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton City on May 11, 1947.

Lucile was united in marriage to Ernest C. Johannigmeier on February 26, 1947 in her parents' home by Rev. Al Rohlfing.

When WWII happened, two of her brothers joined the service and one wasn't accepted and went to work in Nevada, MO. Lucile's dad told her, "Sis, the boys are gone, I need you to help me farm and drive a tractor." Her life of farming began, always driving Allis Chalmers until she married Ernest, then it was International Harvester. She was a dedicated farm wife who worked by her husband's side in the fields, hauling grain and raising cattle. She always had coffee made and snacks anytime family and friends visited.

In 1991, by the grace of God and her hairdresser at the time, Tami (Heiman) Bock, who told her the mole on her neck was changing, Lucile became a melanoma skin cancer survivor.

Lucile was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ernest in 2012; four brothers: James "Mac", Donald, Joe and Albert and sisters-in-law.

Lucile is survived by her daughter, Betty Jo Fennewald and husband, Jerry, Rockville, MO; two grandsons: Jason Dale Fennewald and wife, Roxanne, Tulsa, OK and Ronnie Wayne Fennewald and fiancé, Sarah Enloe, McAlester, OK; one sister-in-law; nieces and nephews.

Lucile enjoyed watching her two grandsons grow up and hearing their stories. They heard her two sermons of, "God will not give you more than you can handle" and "never go to bed mad at someone, talk it out". She always had a high regard for all veterans since she had many relatives in the service over the years.
