Louis Stout, 69, son of Virgil Blackman and Josephine Elizabeth (Driskell) Stout, was born December 28, 1942 in Blanche, Missouri near Mountain Grove. He passed away January 8, 2012 in his home attended by his loving family.

Louis attended Mountain Grove School as a youth, moving to Kansas City where he worked several jobs. While in Kansas City he met and later married Phyllis Kiger October 5, 1963. They made their home in Mountain Grove, Adrian, Butler and finally moved to Appleton City, Missouri in 1978. Louis and Phyllis were blessed with three children.

During his short life-time Louis was employed several places; he was involved in various facets of law enforcement for about 25 years. He was the city policeman in Appleton City for ten years and worked as deputy with the sheriff's office in Bates and St. Clair counties. He was also a licensed investigator.

Louis studied his Bible every day and was a faithful Christian. He loved his family and spent many hours teaching them life lessons and also about the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, especially deer and squirrels. He also liked bow fishing and catching carp. Music brought Louis great enjoyment. He sang, played guitar, banjo, harmonica and several other instruments.

Preceding Louis in death were his parents and eight siblings: Russell Driskell, James W. Stout, Burley Stout, Larry Stout, Dan Stout, Ken Stout, Ethel Stout and Opal Stout. Survivors include his wife Phyllis Stout of the home; their three children, Louis Dixon "Dick" Stout and wife Ronda, Vernon Ray Stout, Jeannie Lynn (Stout) Wanstreet and husband Troy; their grandchildren, Abby Marie (Stout) Sage and husband Travis, Sarah Jordan Stout, Baily Dixon Stout, Michael Burns and wife Tiffany; their great-grandchildren, Shilo Burns, Taylor Harper and Everlee Sage; one brother Ed Stout and one sister Karen Mast. He will be greatly missed by his family, many nieces, nephews and friends.
