Leota Frances (Campbell) Goth, the daughter of Ardell C. and Lorrane Inez (Campbell) Coots was born on March 8, 1939, and passed away peacefully at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital on February 12, 2024, at 84 years old. She grew up in the Kansas City, Missouri, area. After completing her education, she met and married Ludger Goth on December 3, 1973, her husband of 50 years. Together they shared 5 children: Shelby "Tad," Jerry, Jeannie, Walter, and Teresa.
Leota co-owned with her mother Lorraine and worked as a cook at Coots Café in Montrose. Then she also cooked for Yoss Grocery and Montrose School district for many years, along with raising her family. She cherished her family more than anything in her life. Leota also loved garage sales and finding bargains. She was a wonderful cook, loved watching cooking shows, putting on big family dinners, and was especially famous for forgetting to cook her dinner rolls. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who loved her very much.
Leota was preceded in death by her parents, Ardell C., and Lorrane Inez (Campbell) Coots; her daughters, Jeannie Perkins, and Teresa Hetherington; one brother, Harold Galloway; a grandson, Logan Cannon; and a great-granddaughter, Lilliane Maguire. She is survived by her husband, Ludger Goth; her three children: Shelby "Tad" (Jane) Cannon, Jerry (Carla) Cannon, and Walter Cannon (Denice Ziebarth); 11 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren; along with many more family and dear friends.
