Leonard Leroy Gregory, son of James Edger and Rita Mae (McCaslin) Gregory, was born May 19, 1934 in Kansas City, Missouri. He passed away at his home in Windsor, Missouri May 8, 2009 at 74 years of age.
Leonard lived in Kansas City until 1947 when his family moved to a farm west of Appleton City, Missouri. It was there that Leonard met his wife Patty Ann Wegener. They were married at Leonard's grandma's home in Linden, Missouri in 1953. They lived in Linden for several years before moving to California for four years where Mr. Gregory worked for Douglas Air Craft. The family moved back to the Appleton City area where they resided until 2003 when Patty and Leonard moved to Windsor, Missouri.
Even though he had been handicapped for many years, hunting and fishing were two of Leonard's hobbies. He loved catching any type of fish and trot lining. He especially liked turkey and duck hunting. He also enjoyed hunting morel mushrooms. Leonard found great pleasure in going to "the boats" where he played the slot machines and poker.
Preceding Leonard in death were his parents, one sister Opal Blankenship and one brother Jimmy Gregory. Survivors include his wife Patty; three children, Vicki Baker, Lenny Gregory and wife Mary and Tina Anderson and husband Fred; ten grandchildren, Jamie Gary, John Paul Gary, Katrina Gregory, Lonnie Gregory, Vince Freemyer Jennie Anderson, Stacy, Tim, Nathan and Jaclyn; six great-grandchildren, Mariah, Tristen, Luke, Abby, Caden and Alexa; one brother Kellis Gregory; and three sisters, Stella Thompson, Carolyn Green and Brenda Foster.
