The Memorial Graveside Service originally scheduled to be held at the Appleton City Cemetery on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. for Mrs. Beverly Schallert (who passed away Sunday, April 12, 2015) and her husband, Mr. Lawrence "Larry" Schallert (who passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015) has been changed to be held at the Hill and Son Funeral Home in Appleton City . The family will be leading the service and be visiting with relatives and friends at that time.

Lawrence Benedict Schallert, age 87, died at his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 of natural causes.

Born March 4, 1928, in Montrose, Missouri, he lived in Missouri, Kansas and Florida before settling in Albuquerque. He worked for 29 years in quality control for the Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) and earned his contractor's license and built custom homes as a second career after retirement from the AEC. Larry attended the St. John's Catholic Seminary and earned his Bachelor of Science from Finlay Engineering College. He served in the United States army as a member of the 116 th MP Company on the occupied island of Okinawa.

His wife of 63 years, Beverly, died four days after Larry. Survivors include their five children, Marcia Austin, Dale, Don, Greg and Gary Schallert, 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Larry is also survived by sisters Alvena Linenberger and Pat Cook.
