Mrs. Lauretta Clark VanDenberg, age 93, passed away at 6:15 a.m. July 11, 2009 in Maples Care Center in Springfield, Missouri.
She was born October 28, 1915 in Appleton City, Missouri the first child of Charles B. and Goldie (Spears) Clark. She graduated from Appleton City High School in 1933 and Chillicothe Business College.
She met and married Fred VanDenberg in El Dorado, Kansas where they established the El Dorado Motel. She was a member of King's Way United Methodist Church.
Lauretta was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1971, an infant brother Ezra S. and a brother-in-law Richard J. Padgham. Survivors include her brothers Charles B. Clark and wife Fay of Springfield, Missouri, and Clifford H. Clark and wife Betty of Butler, Missouri, a sister Rosalie C. Padgham of Springfield, Missouri; two nieces Sherry Clark of Bakersfield, California and Kathy Wood and husband Jerry of Butler, Missouri; two nephews, Richard C. Padgham and wife Cissy of Media, Pennsylvania and Charles R. Padgham and wife Linda of Hot Springs, Arkansas; a great-niece Andrea Baxter and a great-nephew Michael Wood.
