Laurel Curtis Talbot, 69, son of Curtis Talbot and Betty Groeschel was born on March 25, 1946 in Chicago, IL. He departed life at his home in Appleton City, MO on September 29, 2015.

He married Phyllis Watson on October 6, 1967. They lived in Skokie, IL; Buffalo, MO; Springfield MO, Maryville, MO; before moving to Appleton City, MO in 1995. Laurel lived in his home with Phyllis dedicating his life to making sure she was well taken care of as well as their two cats, Blacky and Patch. He always loved to feed the neighborhood cats as well.

His hobbies include electronics, genealogy, military history, and storytelling to his grandchildren. He also always tried to help his five children when possible.

Laurel was preceded in death by his parents, step-parents, and step brother. He is survived by his wife Phyllis Talbot; children: Bill Talbot (Celia), Atlanta, GA, Dennis Talbot (Diane), Urich, MO, Mary Talbot, Hamilton, New Zealand, Anna Weston (Sean), Kansas City, MO, and Tim Talbot (Jennifer), Elizabeth, CO; grandchildren: Elli, Matthew, Michael, and Nicholas Talbot.
