Kenneth Wendell Wooden, son of Leroy Oliver and Bess (Wolfe) Wooden, was born October 14, 1923 in Appleton City, Missouri. He passed away July 22, 2006 in Cassville, Missouri at 82 years of age.
Kenneth graduated from Appleton City High School in 1941. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II from 1941 to 1947. He was a member of American Legion Post #788 and a past president of the Eagles Lodge #4155 in Shell Knob, Missouri.
Kenneth and Leola O. Swift were united in marriage in March 1951 and to this union one son was born. Mr. Wooden was retired after twenty years of service with the Federal Bureau of Prisons. He had worked as a federal prison guard beginning at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas, followed by Springfield, Missouri, then to Montgomery, Alabama, and finishing his career in Miami, Florida. Kenneth and Leola moved back to Missouri and had lived at Shell Knob for about twenty years where he enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife Leola Wooden, one son James Wooden, one daughter Kay (Wooden) Huddleston, one granddaughter Loey Lockerby, one grandson David Lockerby and one brother Carl Wooden.
