Kelly L. Shouse Pennington, 38, died Monday, January 7, 2013 in Springfield, Missouri. She was born on May 13, 1974 to Jimmie Ray and Sherry Louise Bauer Shouse in El Dorado Springs, Missouri.

Kelly lived in Taberville, Missouri while growing up. She attended Rockville Elementary School through 2nd grade, then attended Appleton City schools, graduating in 1992. She attended Ozark Technical School in Springfield, Missouri for two years.

Kelly held secretarial positions at Prime Trucking, Hubbell Supply Company and Cox Medical Center, all in Springfield, Missouri.

Kelly was baptized on May 26, 1974 at Zion Lutheran Church in Prairie City, Missouri and was later confirmed on May 22, 1988. She was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Springfield, Missouri yet attended church regularly at Zion Lutheran Church in Prairie City, Missouri.

Kelly loved her daughter, Makayla, very much and was very devoted to her; raising her was Kelly's main goal in life. Makayla fondly remembers her mom helping her ride her horse, Sheena.

Kelly was preceded in death by an infant son, Jeffrey Pennington; dad, Jim Shouse; niece, Allyson Marie Shouse; grandfathers, Jack Shouse and Everett Bauer; Godparent, Norman Rapp and great-aunt, Naomi Marquardt.

Survivors include her daughter, Makayla Pennington; mother, Sherry Shouse; brother, Brandon Shouse and wife, Cara; nephews, Austin Shouse and Justin Shouse; grandmothers, Elda Bauer and Audrey Shouse; aunts and uncles: Gerald and Sally Bauer, Jim and Cheryl Bauer, Linda and Dale Lee, Rhonda and Pete Shouse, Gene and Roxy Rotert, Nancy and Wayne Brown, Becky and Leland Browning; Godparent, Laura Rapp; two great-aunts, Myrna Tenholder and husband, Don and Ester Shouse, and great-uncle, Arnold Marquardt; many cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.
