Kathleen M. Kupka, daughter of Walter Stephan and Dolly Maude (Ouderkirk) Piepmeier, was born September 10, 1915 in St. Clair County, Missouri. She passed away August 10, 2007 at Ellett Memorial Hospital at 91 years of age.
Kathleen lived in the Mt. Hope area most of her life, attending Prairie Hill Grade School and graduating from Appleton City High School in 1932. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Rebekah Lodge and Mt. Hope Rural Home Improvement Club for 66 years. Kathleen and Edward Kupka were united in marriage February 9, 1941 in Clinton, Missouri. She loved flowers, gardening, traveling and antiquing.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edward in 2002 and her brother Darwin Piepmeier. She is survived by two nephews, Dale Piepmeier and wife Marylyn of Appleton City, Missouri and Perry Byers and wife Peggy of San Antonio, Texas, a niece Linda Byers and husband Frank of Houston, Texas, her special life-long friends John D. and Ladine Smith and Walter and Martina Gilmore and her friends and neighbors of the Mt. Hope community.
