Katherin Loraine (Harms) Parsons, age 80, fell asleep in Jesus, at her farm home near Appleton City, Missouri. She was born September 25, 1942, in Appleton City to Lawrence and Edna (Wafel) Harms.
She was baptized as an infant, later confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton City where she had been a life-long member.
Katherin attended White Hall Grade School and then Appleton City High School. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, John Henry Parsons, Jr. on September 24, 1961. Following their marriage, they purchased a farm east of town making it their life-long home. Their union was blessed with three children: Barbara, Clifford and Marcus.
She enjoyed being outdoors and especially gardening, growing flowers and working on the farm. She was also a great cook. Her greatest love was family and being able to spend time with her grandchildren.
Preceding Katherin in death were her parents, one brother Donald Harms and his wife Jean. Survivors include her husband, John, of the home; daughter, Barbara and husband Mike Hering; sons, Clifford and wife Anna, Marcus and wife Tracy, all of Appleton City; one brother, Roger Harms and wife Carol of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; brother-in-law, Vernon Parsons and wife Carol, sister-in-law, Judy (Parsons) Piepmeier and husband Terry; grandchildren: Katie (Parsons) Dunnam and husband Ben, Nathan Parsons and wife Avery, Daniel Parsons and fiancée Elise Meyer, and Sarah Parsons and companion Tymon Lynde; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
