Justin William Stephan, son of William Leo Stephan and Karol Diane (Holt) Stephan was born in Butler, Missouri on December 27, 1982. He passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013 in Appleton City, Missouri at the age of 30.

Justin was a very caring person who never met a stranger. He enjoyed talking with everyone he met. He enjoyed collecting political publications and "talking politics". He also loved John Deere tractors, especially his 1931 "D".

Justin was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and was baptized on January 30, 1983. He served as president of the congregation.

Justin's passion was politics. He was elected Mayor of Appleton City in April, 2012. He always worked to make things better and was instrumental in getting the grant for new sidewalks and for the purchase of the state highway building for public works. His hard work and dedication to the citizens of Appleton City was appreciated and will be deeply missed.

Justin treasured his many "families". He will be dearly missed by his Missouri Boys State family, Sons of the American Legion Squadron #999 family, church family, College of the Ozarks family, and friends near and far.

Justin was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Chester Holt and paternal grandfather, Leo Stephan.

He is survived by his mother, Karol Stephan; father, Bill Stephan; brother, Derek Stephan; paternal grandmother, Irma Stephan; maternal grandmother, Mary Lue Holt, several uncles, aunts and cousins.
