Julie Joan Pavlik Park passed away peacefully at Ellett Memorial Hospital in Appleton City, Missouri, with her husband of 64 years, Bill, at her side, on August 28, 2010, at the age of 92. She was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church.

Julie was born in Chicago, Illinois, on March 27, 1918, the daughter of Emil (Bohous) and Julia Monica Pavlik. She enlisted in the Women's Army Corps during World War II. At one point, she was assigned to travel with an exhibit called "This Is the Army, Mrs. Jones" as part of Army Public Affairs efforts to promote and educate the United States about the war. As the war was coming to an end, she was assigned to serve as an X-ray technician at Ft. Dix, New Jersey, where she met Bill Park, a St. Clair County soldier who had recently returned from Army service in Europe. They were later married, on March 31, 1946.

Bill and Julie settled in Appleton City, where they bought the Blue Inn Café. In the early 1950s, they moved to Kansas City; but after a few years, they returned to Appleton City, where Bill became the Skelly Oil agent and Julie ran the office. In the early 1960s, they had the opportunity to repurchase the Blue Inn, and they operated it until selling it to retire in 1976. Julie worked part time at the Appleton City Clinic for Dr. Bob Brownsberger and Dr. Glenn Reed and pursued her avid interest in golf, shooting a hole in one at age 79.

Bill and Julie moved to Leawood, Kansas, in 1994 to live with their daughter Joan Hill and her family. In April of this year, they moved back to Appleton City, where Julie became a resident at Colonial Manor and Bill at Countryside Estates. Julie was a loving and faithful wife, mother, and grandmother who was always there for her family. Her family members and friends will remember her for her many wonderful qualities, including her intelligence, her humor and sense of fun, her famous fried chicken and homemade pies, and her always interesting opinions. She was an avid reader and enjoyed music, art, and discussing current events.

Julie was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Gus Pavlik, Irv Pavlik, Frank Pavlik, John Pavlik, and Bob Pavlik and her sisters Mae (Pavlik) Roubik and Ann (Pavlik) Loftus. Julie is survived by her husband Bill; daughter Beverly Park Peavler and husband Jim Peavler of Buena Vista, Colorado; daughter Joan Park Hill and husband Chris Hill of Leawood, Kansas; daughter Jan Park Huber and husband Tim Huber of Charlotte, North Carolina; granddaughter Julie Peavler McCord and husband Tim McCord of Anaheim, California; grandson James Peavler of Glendale, Arizona; granddaughter Lauren Hill of Leawood, Kansas; granddaughter Brooke Hill of Leawood, Kansas; great-grandson Brendan McCord of Anaheim, California; a brother, Tom Pavlik , and many nieces and nephews.
