Johnny Dean Parks was born September 26, 1953 in Selma, Alabama to Gene and Laudene (Swopes) Parks.
John grew up in the Taberville area and attended school in Appleton City, Missouri. John farmed alongside his dad for many years and worked at Mott's Meat.
He married Cindy Pettit on April 13, 1979 and they lived in Taberville, Missouri for 33 years. John and Cindy enjoyed their life on the farm and shared many activities together.
John loved hunting and fishing and spending time at the lake on his pontoon boat with family and friends. He also loved camping trips. They were all special times for him. John loved the company of friends and family, most who stopped by often for pool playing, visiting and fish fries. Fishing on the river was always a great day for him. John had a unique sense of humor and no one was spared. He made a mean "apple pie".
He was preceded in death by his father Gene Parks. He is survived by his wife Cindy of the home; his mother Laudene Parks of Appleton City; two brothers, Ronnie Parks and wife Kristine of Appleton City and Bob Parks and wife Donna of Rockville; three sisters, Vickie and husband Cody Rhinehart of Knob Noster, Missouri, Patty and husband Junior Oehring and Sandra and husband Darrell Siegismund of Rockville, Missouri. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews who loved their uncle John more than anything. His special companions "his little girls" Daisy and Ellie May will miss him immensely.
