John Joseph Bell age 62, was born September 9, 1956 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Jack and Patricia (Striplin) Bell.  He passed away peacefully on August 26, 2019 at his home in Appleton City, Missouri.

He spent his youth in the Kansas City, Missouri area, attending high school in Independence, Missouri.  After completing his education John joined the United States Army, where he served his country proudly.  Upon fulfilling his service, he started a career in the culinary arts, where he worked as cook most of his life, serving at many upscale restaurants and The Blue Inn in Appleton City.

John lived the way he wanted to live.  He did it his way.  He loved everyone in his family and his many friends with his whole heart.  One of his favorite activities was enjoying his favorite drink on a cool evening, Jim Beam whiskey.  Apart from this, John's passion was getting and seeing tattoos.  He regularly went to the tattoo shop to get some new ink art added to his many tattoos.  He further liked all outdoor activities, especially fishing.  John dearly loved cooking and he was incredible at it.  He was also a huge Chiefs and Royals fan.  Apart from these things, he was a hard worker, who always found the time to help anyone that needed it and love on his family.  He will be deeply missed by his many family and friends.

He is preceded in death by an infant sister, Nora Fay, a grandson, Aron Bell; and a great-granddaughter, Hartlee Youngblood.

John is survived by his parents, Jack and Patricia Bell; children: Denice (Mike) Youngblood, Joseph (Ashley) Bell, Steven (Amanda) Bell, Marie Bell, Sherry Riggs, Nina Potts, and Tanya Roberts; his siblings: Jeff Bell, Kevin Bell, Mark Bell, Teresa (Bill) Toney, and Carol (Tim) Gray; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and good friends.
