Joan McClelland, daughter of Alva and Leona (Ray) Keeton, was born February 2, 1935 in El Dorado Spring, Missouri. She passed away quietly in the company of family and friends at Truman Lake Manor in Lowry City, Missouri July 2, 2010 at 75 years of age.
Joan lived in Wichita, Kansas most of her life. She was united in marriage to Ronald G. McClelland April 9, 1971 in Olathe, Kansas. They moved to Appleton City, Missouri in 1985. While her health allowed she was an active member of the First Christian Church in Appleton City and Eagles Auxiliary #3251 which she had held the office of president for during 1976 and 1977.
Joan liked being outdoors, enjoying animals, flowers and "smart" fish that got on her line. She loved being with her family and was very close to all of them.
Preceding Joan in death were her parents Alva and Leona Keeton, her stepfather Charles Benshoof, her stepmother Ruth Keeton and several aunts and uncles. Survivors include her husband Ron of the home; a stepsister Mary Jane Fischer of Poway, California; an aunt Neva Murray of Kansas City, Missouri; two special cousins, Dorothy Hamby of El Dorado Springs, Missouri and Brenda Cummins of Liberal, Missouri; special friends Dennis, Debbie and DeWayne Ray and numerous cousins.
